Shoppers find music at The House of David
As the city of Woodland Park continues to grow, shopping options expand along with the growth. With the opening of The House of David on Baldwin Street, people who love music have a place.
“We’ll be open Small Business Saturday, and I have a lot of inventory,” said Kimberly Founds, who owns the music store.
The inventory includes 26-string harps, guitars (acoustic, classical and electric), bass ukeleles, violins, drums and keyboards – that’s just a few of what House of David offers.

The music store also carries accessories, strings, straps, tuners, and amplifiers.
If the store doesn’t have an item, most likely Founds can order it. For instance, a customer wanted to buy a panda, or steel-tongue, drum, but the store does not usually carry those types of drums.
Yet Founds checked and was able to satisfy the customer with a panda drum which was in the mail the next day.
With the store, Founds has tapped into a need in Ute Pass. In addition to the instruments, she offers lessons on almost all instruments, with the help of six music instructors.
To remove barriers to affordability, Founds launched a nonprofit organization, iFoundsintl, that offers students the opportunity to apply for grants for scholarships.
“We provide $2,300 a month in scholarships,” she said.
The organization recently received a $3,200 grant from the Ute Pass Kiwanis.
“I believe in educating kids and I want them to have this,” she said.
The House of David is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29.
“We are stocked and ready to sell!” she said.
