El Paso County coroner identifies 21-year-old victim of Sunday shooting
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office identified a man killed in a shooting in northeast Colorado Springs on Sunday as Daniel Federico, 21, according to a Wednesday news release.
Officers found Federico dead in the 3500 block of North Academy Boulevard just before 2 a.m. While the coroner has yet to determine his cause or manner of death, the Colorado Springs Police Department is investigating Federico’s death as a homicide.
Another man with gunshot wounds was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there was no word of an arrest.
