News 5 adds new reporter/anchor
KOAA/Channel 5 has added Stacy Neumann to the line up as a reporter/anchor.
Neumann comes to Colorado Springs from stints as a reporter/anchor at News14 Carolina, a 24-hour news service offered by Time Warner Cable to stations through out North Carolina.
Before that Neumann worked at WSFA/Channel 12 in Montgomery, Ala.
“I’ve seen a lot of different places,” she said, following her husband who is in the military and currently stationed at Ft. Carson. “I’ve never moved to a town where everyone is so enthusiastic about where they live.”
Among the most interesting reporting assignments Neumann has covered include being imbedded with the 82 Airborne Division out of Ft. Bragg, N.C. for five weeks in Afghanistan and then again for four months in Iraq and the Rattlesnake Rodeo in Opp, Ala.
Neumann is filling in for Georgiann Lymberopoulos while she’s on maternity leave.
Help FOX21’s anchor search
KXRM/Channel 21 is enlisting the help of viewers as they choose the next news anchor to replace Stephanie Pytlinski. The station put out a call on social media last week for viewers to help them judge tapes of potential hires.
“After doing some mock newscasts with me, we have some candidates on DVD, and we will be showing them to a group of random viewers and then take their feedback on whom they like and why,” Joe Cole, FOX21 news director and co-anchor, said in an e-mail.
Cole said that this is just one in a multi-step process and he didn’t know when the new anchor would be on the air.
“We are looking for focus group volunteers. If you are interested please e-mail me at jcole@fox21news.com,” Cole said on Facebook and Twitter.
Pytlinski announced in August that she was leaving the air to be a stay-at-home mom after the birth of her second child in June.
Back on 11 News
KKTV/Channel 11’s senior/Crime Stopper reporter is back on the air after maternity leave.
“Lauri Martin is back and we’re so glad. We really missed her. She and her son, Pilot, are doing great,” said Liz Merrill, KKTV news director, in an e-mail.
Christmas music already?
What do King Soopers and KKLI (106.3 FM) have in common?
Both began airing continuous Christmas music over the weekend. On Monday, KLITE was back to their regular light-rock format, but look for the holiday tunes to gear up again later this month.
