USA Pro Challenge teams announced, new faces to race

DENVER — Teams for the USA Pro Challenge have been announced and a combination of both familiar and up-and-coming riders will be at the race across Colorado.
The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/1IqZcaZ) that the 16-team lineup announced Wednesday includes top World Tour teams BMC Racing, Trek Factory Racing and Cannondale-Garmin of the U.S. and Russia’s Tinkoff-Saxo.
Five countries are sending teams, with the U.S. fielding the other 11. Israel’s first-ever professional team Cycling Academy and Australia’s Team Budget Forklifts also earned an invite to the Pro Challenge.
Race Chief Executive Shawn Hunter says the Pro Challenge often stands as a proving ground young talent.
The USA Pro Challenge will run Aug. 17-23 starting in Steamboat Springs.
