Hit gas line causes road closures in north Colorado Springs neighborhood
Editor’s note: This story has been updated to reflect that a gas line was hit but there was no gas leak in the neighborhood.
A residential cul-de-sac in northern Colorado Springs was closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon after a gas line was hit.
The leak, at the intersection of Serenity Park Drive and Brookhill Drive just east of Voyager Parkway, was reported by the Colorado Springs Fire Department in a social media post at 4:35 p.m. A fire engine, hazardous materials unit, and Colorado Springs Utilities responded to the hit gas line.
The fire department said to expect some road closures in the area, and asked the public to avoid the area while crews work to mitigate the gas line.
