Game 1 between Avalanche and Wild set for Sunday evening

The second round for the Colorado Avalanche will get underway Sunday.

A number of scenarios were in play on Friday, but the one that mattered the most was in Utah. With the Mammoth losing to the Golden Knights, the NHL confirmed that Game 1 between the Avalanche and Minnesota Wild will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday. The game will be televised nationally on TNT, TruTV and stream on HBO Max.

The remainder of the series schedule was not made available by the league and will be released at a later time.

Round two of the NHL playoffs kicks off Saturday when the Carolina Hurricanes host the Philadelphia Flyers, but the first round will still technically be taking place. The Tampa Bay Lightning forced a Game 7 with the Montreal Canadiens that will take place 4 p.m. Sunday, just before the Avalanche and Wild begin their series.
