The last piece of head coach Joe Crispin’s first academy coaching staff has been added. 

Brian Boyle joins the Air Force men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach for the 2026-27 season after more than a decade in the NBA and NBA G League. His most recent stint was two seasons as an assistant coach with the 2026 NBA G League champion Greensboro Swarm.

“I am excited to welcome Brian Boyle and his wife, Jesse, to the academy,” Crispin said in an announcement Wednesday. “Brian loves the game and is dedicated to helping young men maximize their potential on and off the court. His experience is unique and he will help us fulfill our mission to play a style of basketball that is fast, fearless, and free.”

As an assistant coach for the Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, Boyle specialized in offensive strategy and implementation, player development, and game preparation. In 2026, Boyle led the Swarm to the top-ranked offense in the league as an offensive coordinator. 

Before his coaching career began in 2013, Boyle earned six letters for basketball and golf at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. Boyle also spent the 2014-2015 season with the Denver Nuggets in the video room. 

Boyle joins Michael Lyons (assistant coach), Eric Brennan (assistant coach), and Carson Cunningham (associate head coach) as new additions to the Falcons’ staff. Assistant coaches Jon Jordan and Capt. Sid Tomes were confirmed to stay on staff April 10.
