$2,000 reward offered for information on Saguache County homicide: Colorado Bureau of Investigation
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Saguache County officials are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons involved in the December murder of a county resident, according to a Monday news release.
Charles William “Bill” McClure, 78, was found in his Center home on Dec. 23 when local construction workers, who were building an addition to McClure’s house, contacted authorities after they had not seen him for several days, the release stated.
Center is around 170 miles southwest of Colorado Springs in the San Luis Valley.
McClure was last seen alive on Dec. 19, and investigators are seeking information from anyone who may have seen unusual activity near his home between Dec. 19-23, officials said.
“Information that may seem insignificant to a bystander could be the ‘missing piece’ needed by investigators,” CBI said in the release.
The state investigative agency is collaborating with the Center Police Department and the Colorado State Patrol dispatch center, according to the release.
“We are committed to finding justice for the victim and his family,” said CBI Director Armando Saldate.
CBI is also partnered with Crime Stoppers to give potential tipsters an avenue to provide information without fear of reprisals, officials said. Anyone with information can contact the anonymous tip line at 719-589-4111.
