IDAHO SPRINGS — With more snow and cold weather in the forecast, the Colorado Department of Transportation has called off nighttime work on Interstate 70 in Idaho Springs this weekend.

Nighttime closures had been planned through Monday morning for work related to a new bridge over I-70. It’s part of a $72 million project to help relieve eastbound traffic during the busiest times on the highway.

Work had originally been scheduled to begin Thursday night. CDOT initially delayed the start until Friday night before deciding to just wait for a better time.
