El Paso County residents should receive annual tax notice soon

El Paso County residents can expect to get their annual tax notices in the mail in the next few days, according to a news release from the county.

The office of the El Paso County Treasurer mailed the notices last week. Property owners will receive the notices even if their property taxes are included in their monthly mortgage payments and are paid by their mortgage company. Treasurer Mark Lowderman suggests that property owners check with their mortgage company before paying the bill.

Copies of current and past tax statements are available online at http://trs.elpasoco.com. Property owners who do not receive a tax notice should contact the treasurer’s office at 719-520-7900.

Because of worsening conditions, the doors of the Salvation Army Warming Shelter were opened an hour early for those who would have to spend the night outside.
