Celebrate the quirky and the odd at Estes Park fests
There’s seemingly always something going on in Estes Park. While particularly true in summer and fall, it’s not like the town goes dormant in spring. Here’s a pair of upcoming festivals worth noting on your calendar — as if an excuse is needed to plan a trip to the gateway city of Rocky Mountain National Park — Frozen Dead Guy Days on March 28 and Bigfoot Days on April 25. Both events are built around Colorado legends: Grandpa Bredo, who is now older than 120, and the elusive sasquatch. Expect live music, coffin races, a drone show, axe-throwing, film screenings, a bigfoot calling contest and more. Get more details at visitestespark.com. — Nathan Van Dyne, The Gazette
