Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office still seeking information on skeletal remains found in 2022
Wednesday marked two years since the skeletal remains of a man were found in a field near Avondale and Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office investigators are still seeking information on his identity.
DNA testing has been done on the remains but his identity is still unknown, the Sheriff’s Office said through social media Wednesday. Now, investigators are working with CBI & Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter to do Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy, which may help identify possible family members.
However, the office warned that this process does take some time, and the public’s help is still being sought.
A forensic artist from Florida was hired to develop reconstruction photos based on DNA results that may provide clue to his ID.
Forensic analysis suggests he is a Caucasian man between the ages of 30-50. His hair color and eye color are unknown. The man may also have had tattoos and/or piercings.
The sheriff’s office encourages anyone who may know he is to contact Detective Vanessa Simpson at (719) 583-6436.
