El Paso County coroner identifies Colorado Springs homicide victim
The El Paso County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim from the shooting in northwest Colorado Springs on Oct. 16 as 48-year-old Todd Schneider.
Just after 9:45 a.m., police were notified of shots fired in the 7400 block of Stonecrop Court, near West Woodmen Road.
When officers got to the scene, they found one adult male, later identified as Schneider, with at least one gunshot wound. He was declared dead on the scene, according to a press release sent out Wednesday afternoon.
The coroner’s office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
The Colorado Springs Police Department’s homicide unit is investigating the incident as a homicide.
Currently, police say that all parties are accounted for, and the investigation is ongoing. Police have not yet announced an arrest or suspect details.

This was the 36th homicide in Colorado Springs, according to police. At this time last year, there were 27 homicides.
