In a little over a year since ChatGPT was launched on an unsuspecting world, artificial intelligence has begun to transform every walk of life. AI is making it possible for machines to learn from experience and perform human-like tasks.

AI is already being used in self-driving cars, navigation, robotics, e-commerce, personalized education, facial recognition, agriculture, gaming, and military applications.

AI’s ability to speed research, write articles, gather and process vast amounts of information quickly and even answer people’s questions through chatbots is also raising important questions for society, the economy, and governance.

To sift through some of the most pressing questions, The Colorado Springs Gazette, Pikes Peak State College and KOAA News 5 are teaming up for a Town Hall on March 1 on the quickly evolving role of AI in shaping our world. A panel of leading Artificial Intelligence experts will explore the future of AI in business, software development, cybersecurity, education and national defense.

“Shaping Tomorrow: A Colorado Conversation on Artificial Intelligence” will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Pikes Peak State College’s Campus Theater, 5675 S. Academy Blvd. in Colorado Springs.

Members of the general public are invited, and you can register and leave a question for our panelists at gazettedev.gazette.com/AI. Members of the live audience also will have the opportunity to ask questions of the panel. The Town Hall also will be livestreamed on KOAA.com and gazettedev.gazette.com for those who can’t participate in person.

Dr. Dennis Natali, a professor of business and the artificial intelligence policy chair for Pikes Peak State College, will moderate the discussion. As the AI expert for the Colorado Community College System’s 13 colleges and numerous non-profit agencies, he ensures every discipline has the awareness to ethically adopt AI into its curriculum.

Christie Frieg, president of Alethia Software, which specializes in software development services focused on Space Doman Awareness data and other types of military applications.

Brandon Lee, president of Edison App Design, which uses technology and software automation to help small businesses bridge the gap between real world and digital data.
