Colorado Springs police seek suspects who allegedly stole vehicle before setting it ablaze

Colorado Springs police investigate alleged break-in, shots fired

Colorado Springs police are looking for a suspect — or suspects — who allegedly stole a vehicle, crashed it into a tree, and purposely set it on fire early Sunday, according to CSPD officials.

At about 3:45 a.m., officers from the Stetson Hills Division responded to a call about a traffic crash and possible vehicle arson in the 4900 block of Spotted Horse Drive, near Dublin Boulevard and Austin Bluffs Parkway, police said. When they arrived at the scene, they found a car that had collided with a tree before it was set ablaze.

“Unknown suspects fled the area prior to the arrival of CSFD and CSPD personnel,” police said in a blotter entry.

Colorado Springs fire personnel extinguished the fire. No property damage was reported, and no one was injured, officials said.
