A man is in custody after a business in Colorado Springs was robbed Tuesday morning, police said.

Colorado Springs police received a call from the business, located in the 3000 block of Mallard Drive, by U.S. 24 and east of South Circle Drive, around 9:45 a.m. Police found the suspects less than a mile away from the business in the 800 block of South Circle Drive and was able to arrest one.

Anthony Miranda, 40, was arrested after what police say was an altercation where he  tried to reach for a handgun.

Miranda was on parole and has a criminal history, including assault on a peace officer. He is facing three counts of attempted assault on a peace officer, theft and weapons charges.

A spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department said another suspect was contacted but then released as of 11:30 a.m. pending further investigation.
