A woman with three outstanding warrants and a man have been arrested in northwest Colorado Springs after police say they lied about their identities during a auto theft investigation.

Tyler Green, 24, and Hope Adams, 29, were taken into custody Wednesday after police found a stolen 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe in the 4700 block of Rusina Road, near Garden of the Gods Road and Interstate 25.

The department said both suspects gave false names during the beginning of the investigation and were later found out. Adams also attempted to escape while detained, according to police.

The owner of the stolen vehicle lost their occupational tools, likely resulting in “future victimization” of the family, police said.

Both Green and Adams are being held at the El Paso County Jail on a $2,400 and $3,000 bond respectively.
