Harding Nursery puts the Happy in Mother’s Day!

Harding Nursery puts the Happy in Mother’s Day!

Is your calendar marked for Mother’s Day? This year, it will be celebrated on Sunday, May 11, celebrating mothers, motherhood, and every maternal bond there is, from those who brought you up to those who shaped you, supported you, gave you their time and love; any woman, really, who has been a superhero in your life.

Flowers are the number one Mother’s Day gift and, while Harding Nursery has them (roses, anyone?!), they also have myriad garden-related items suitable for the holiday as well.

It seems like a natural choice to get your Mother’s Day gifts at the nursery because that’s where many people first met their mother (and both the baby nursery and plant nursery are all about tender loving care!)

Among the options you have for gift-giving at Harding Nursery:

  • Shrubs, flowers, trees and perennials — for the Colorado climate (specialties include blue spruce, shade trees, evergreen spreaders and potentillas)
  • Annuals and bedding
  • Bulbs
  • Fruit trees, deciduous trees
  • Fruit and berry bushes
  • Garden decor — arbors, benches, bird baths, figurines, fountains, hanging baskets and pots
  • Ornamental grasses
  • Vegetable flowers and seeds to create a bee, butterfly, hummingbird or vegetable garden
  • Vegetable seeds for a healthy garden of broccoli and cauliflower, cucumbers, tomatoes, pumpkin and squash
  • Vegetable plants ready to plant in your garden — Harding-raised tomatoes, peppers, squash and more!
  • Vines
  • Wreaths — decorated and undecorated — at Christmas time and a beautiful Christmas Santa Shop

If you are not sure what to purchase, there’s always a Harding Nursery gift card in the amount of your choice, that can be purchased in-store or online at https://hardingnursery.com/gift-cards/gift-card.html.

Mother’s Day has its roots in gardening, and Harding Nursery has its roots in Colorado Springs!

The second Sunday in May is dedicated to Mother’s Day and is considered the date that it is “safe” to start your garden.

Family owned and operated Harding Nursery has been in business since 1957 — that’s more than 65 years! They can take credit for helping Colorado Springs businesses and individuals beautify their spaces and sharing a wealth of information over the decades. Their knowledgeable staff has been assisting residents with plant and landscaping questions for the duration as well! Plus, their pamphlets, handouts, and free how-to seminars throughout the year have helped create many a green thumb among community members!

Shoppers have found themselves to be more than customers; they have become part of an extended family.

Harding Nursery has more than 150 acres of growing fields and 22 greenhouses east of Colorado Springs; the main nursery has more than 12 acres of stock and 14 greenhouses.
