Bomb threat at Alamosa airport leads to an arrest

Alamosa police arrested a man in connection with a bomb threat at the San Luis Valley Regional Airport, according to a news release from the city.

The FBI notified the Alamosa Police Department at noon Wednesday of a post on social media threatening to detonate an explosive device at the airport and provided information about the suspect.

Officers evacuated the airport and apprehended a man in the airport’s lobby, according to the release. A search of the suspect found no explosives or suspicious devices.

David Mejia, 18, of Denver, was arrested on suspicion of making a false report of explosives, endangering public transportation and terroristic threats or menacing, authorities said.
