Guns, drugs found during arrest in Cimarron Hills
El Paso County sheriff’s deputies recovered two guns, fentanyl and methamphetamine after finding two people who appeared to be unconscious in a vehicle Saturday morning, authorities said Thursday.
Deputies observed a Chevrolet pickup truck towing a Dodge Ram stopped in a traffic lane near Meadowbrook Parkway and Woolsey Heights in Cimarron Hills.
After announcing themselves with no response, deputies opened the door and identified the driver as Allison Ciaramitaro, 39, and the passenger as 42-year-old James Neeley, according to a news release.
Neeley told deputies “spontaneously” that there were firearms in the vehicle that did not belong to him.
A search of the vehicle found:
- A loaded 9mm pistol
- A loaded, short-barreled 9mm rifle with no serial number, make or model
- 6.28 grams of methamphetamine
- 8.78 grams of fentanyl
- Multiple syringes, a pipe, tooter straws and marijuana
- Burglary tools and a mask
Neely was arrested on suspicion of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of weapons by a previous offender, possessing a dangerous weapon and possession of burglary tools.
The release stated that Neely is considered to be a special offender and has an “extensive felony record,” including a conviction for aggravated robbery.
Ciaramitaro was released on a summons for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
