One body was found early Saturday after Colorado Springs police responded to a report of an explosion and flames near Bear Creek Road.

When emergency vehicles arrived at about 5:10 a.m., they found a vehicle on fire after an apparent one-car crash at the 400 block of Bear Creek Road.

Early investigation showed that the vehicle left the road and hit a tree.

Speed appeared to be a factor in the crash, police said.

The body of the person was discovered after the fire was extinguished.
