Coroner identifies woman killed in Adams County crash that preceded car theft, high-speed chase
Adams County authorities have identified the 34-year-old woman who died after her vehicle crashed into the South Platte River late last month.
Sherrie Hassey, of Denver, was pronounced dead after the Jan. 27 wreck near the intersection of York Street and Colorado 224, according to the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
The Colorado State Patrol says Hassey was in a red Jeep heading north on York Street when it “launched” through the air and landed in the river, killing her and seriously injuring a man who was apparently also in the vehicle.
