Police on Monday arrested a man on suspicion of using his Pikes Peak Community College Police badge to impersonate a Colorado Springs Police officer while acting as a process server.

Willie Hamilton, 52, is facing the misdemeanor charge of first degree official misconduct after allegedly knocking on the Briargate door of Victoria Ewell on Saturday, flashing his badge and demanding to know where a friend of hers was.

“This man told me he was a police officer, that he was going to have my house and neighborhood surrounded and that I was going to go to jail for impeding a police investigation,” Ewell said.

Ewell said Hamilton was looking for her friend on a civil matter.

Nordic combined skier Billy Demong won a gold medal in the individual large hill and helped the U.S. to a silver in the 20-kilometer relay last month at the Vancouver Games, where the Americans set a Winter Games record with 37 medals.
