A Colorado Springs man was jailed Wednesday after he allegedly caused a woman to fall from a second-story balcony during a fight, police said.

Terrance Michael Sexton, 20, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, menacing and violation of a protection order, records show.

Police rushed about 5 a.m. to a residence on the 900 block of Arcturus Drive, off South 8th Street, for an urgent assistance call from a woman who had fallen from a second-story balcony and had suffered serious injuries, including a broken femur, police said. The victim’s name was not released by police.

Investigators alleged the fall was not accidental and an altercation between the victim and a man identfied as Sexton had resulted in the fall from the balcony, police said.

The woman was taken hospitalized and is expected to recover, police said.
