Colorado State Patrol confirmed in a press release Tuesday afternoon that Jeffrey Baker, 52, died Monday as a result of injuries in a crash on Highway 24.  

Baker, of Aurora, was driving a motorcycle eastbound on Highway 24 on Saturday when he crashed into the back of a 2006 Lincoln at Highway 24 and 31st Street.

According to State Patrol, both Baker and his passenger, Aurora resident Sherrie Eiseman, 52, were ejected from the motorcycle during the crash. Neither was wearing a helmet at the time.

Both Baker and Eiseman were taken to Penrose Hospital after the crash. State Patrol said Eiseman’s injuries were moderate.

According to the press release, Baker became distracted and hit the right rear of the Lincoln with his Harley-Davidson while it was moving into the left-turn lane on Highway 24. Neither the driver of the Lincoln, Colorado Springs resident Briar Schumacher, 32, nor three passengers were injured in the crash.

State Patrol is investigating the crash.
