Pedestrian hit, injured at Colorado Springs intersection

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a car in a busy Colorado Springs intersection Monday morning, according to Gazette news partner KKTV.

The pedestrian was reportedly using a crosswalk at the intersection of South Academy Boulevard and San Miguel Street, north of The Citadel mall, when they were hit by a driver turning left, police told KKTV.

The person’s injuries were non-life-threatening, the news station reported, but they were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said the pedestrian had the right-of-way, KKTV reported. No citations had been given as of 8 a.m.
