A four-vehicle accident on Platte Avenue just east of Chelton Road left at least one person in critically injured Thursday, police said.

The driver of a white Chevrolet truck traveling west on Platte “failed to slow or stop for vehicles stopped at the light at Chelton” when the accident happened about 4:55 p.m., police said in a news release.

Three people, including the Chevrolet driver, who is under investigation for suspicion of driving under the influence, were hospitalized.

Police blocked off all westbound lanes of Platte from Academy Boulevard to Chelton for about four hours while they investigated the crash.
