A string of mid-day burglaries in Black Forest have led the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to warn residents to lock their doors and be on the lookout for suspicious activity.

Although deputies aren’t sure how many people might be involved in the break-ins, they have a vague description of one man and a mid-size silver car, according to a sheriff’s office release. The man is described as a 6-foot tall white male with brown hair in his early- to mid-30s who is was seen wearing blue jeans and a grey t-shirt.

The burglaries have taken place during the day on Mondays and Wednesdays, with items such as laptops, flat screen televisions and jewelry being stolen. 

If you live in the area, deputies ask you to be aware of the crimes and take precautions, as the burglar has been able to get into some homes through unlocked doors.

“Do not leave your doors or windows unsecured, and if you see someone matching that description or the vehicle, please call the 390-5555 phone number immediately,” Sgt. Joe Roybal said.
