DENVER – Sen. Michael Bennet has raised more than $1.65 million so far in the second quarter, according to numbers released by his campaign Thursday morning.

The Democrat has over $5.7 million in the bank and has spent millions on TV ads that are running across the state.

Five Republicans are running for the chance to unseat Bennet, who has no opponent in the June 28 primary.

Ryan Frazier’s campaign reported raising $57,500 through the June 8 reporting deadline and has spent almost all of the roughly $400,000 he has raised total leaving $19,500 cash on hand.

As of Thursday evening, none of the other four GOP contenders had released their numbers to The Gazette.

The reports are due to the Federal Election Commission Thursday, but it will be several days before the commission reports the numbers online. The Senate still files the reports on paper, so it takes time for the data to appear.

But many campaigns voluntarily release numbers before they go online.

This reporting period is known as the pre-primary filing deadline and comes just a few weeks before the end of the second quarter when another report is due.

The pre-primary donations bring the total Bennet has raised since the campaign began to almost $10 million.
