The teenager accused of slaying a Fort Carson soldier and his pregnant wife will appear at the El Paso County court Tuesday, records show.

Macyo January, 18, is scheduled to be arraigned on a recent assault charge through video advisement at 1:30 p.m.

January was 17 at the time of the Jan. 14, 2013, fatal shootings of Sgt. David Dunlap and his pregnant wife Whitney Butler, who Colorado Springs police said surprised a burglar in their home.

January’s next court appearance involving the homicide charges will be April 15, records show.
