Police: Motorcyclist dies in crash after running red light
A 42-year-old man on a motorcycle died of injuries suffered in a crash after he ran a red light east of downtown, Colorado Springs police said.
The identity of the motorcyclist, who police Sgt. Rob Kelley said was not wearing a helmet, was not released. He died while en route to Memorial Hospital
The motorcyclist was westbound on Pikes Peak Avenue around 2:45 p.m. when he ran a red light and hit two cars in the intersection, first by one heading north on Institute Street and then by one going the other direction, Kelley said.
The crash is under investigation.
