Sports Authority to close Denver warehouse
Sports Authority plans to shutter its Denver distribution warehouse by the end of April, according to a notice filed with the state of Colorado this week.
The Englewood-based sports equipment retailer, which is shedding stores and reportedly preparing for bankruptcy, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice indicating plans to close its Denver distribution center at 50 S. Kalamath St. by April 29, 2016.
The action, which was first reported by Business Den on Friday, will affect 72 employees, the notice said. The 200,000-square-foot building could be a prime opportunity for redevelopment, the property’s owner told Business Den.
