Police are looking for a man they say fired a handgun and threatened someone during a disturbance Monday night in southeast Colorado Springs.

Officers were dispatched to a large-scale disturbance and shots fired call about 10 p.m. on the 3300 block of Verde Drive, off South Chelton Road, police said.

According to witnesses, a fight involving a group of men escalated and one of them pulled a handgun, threatening to shoot another man, police said.

The armed man then fired several shots in the air and fled the area on foot. There were no injuries reported, police said.

There was no suspect description provided and police said the investigation was ongoing.
