Colorado Springs police helps Teens with Promise get ready for school
The Colorado Springs police will collaborate with Teens with Promise, a local non-profit dedicated to providing disadvantaged teens with the supplies they need to start and stay in school, to fill 1,000 backpacks and raise $10,000 in the following weeks.
The organization is conducting donation drives at the four Colorado Springs police substations and at the Teens with Promise office. Last year the organization helped 2,500 students with school supplies, clothing, sports equipment, holiday gifts and homeless outreach services.
School supplies needed include backpacks, scientific calculators, college-ruled notebooks and paper, pens, pencils and flash drives.
