Peterson fire crews conduct live training near airport
Peterson Air Force Base fire crews will conduct live fire training exercises Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the west end of the installation, near Airport Road and Powers Boulevard.
Motorists traveling on the Powers Boulevard corridor and people living nearby the Colorado Springs Airport should not be alarmed if smoke and fire are visible in the area, according to a statement from Peterson officials.
The routine training is conducted periodically to ensure emergency responders’ readiness on the base and at the airport, the statement read.
