Traffic alert: 2 hospitalized in multi-vehicle crash on I-25

UPDATE: All southbound lanes have reopened, the Colorado Department of Transportation said on its website.

Two were hospitalized after a four-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 in south Colorado Springs early Wednesday, according to Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened between South Academy Boulevard and Mesa Ridge Parkway around 5:50 a.m. and shut down all southbound lanes for about an hour, State Patrol said. As of 7:30 a.m., one of the southbound lanes has reopened.

Two drivers were taken to the hospital for minor to moderate injuries, a State Patrol spokesperson said. One of the vehicles reportedly struck a guardrail. Investigators are still determining the cause of the crash.
