Not everyone can make it to the Hollywood Bowl.

But for one night, Colorado Springs residents won’t have to as a massive stadium screen at Weidner Field brings one of America’s most iconic musical performances to the Pikes Peak region. 

This Friday, Colorado Springs residents can take part in the Tabernacle Choir at the Hollywood Bowl Watch Party, commemorating 100 years since the ensemble first appeared at the Los Angeles venue in 1926.

The event is hosted by local volunteers and community members affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to share the music of Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

Doors open at 5 p.m. at 111 W. Cimarron St., with an optional nonperishable food drive accepting donations at the event.

While donations are not required for admission, guests are encouraged to bring shelf-stable food items to support local families through Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado.

The two-hour watch party begins at 7 p.m. on the stadium’s giant LED display. 

Special guest performers featured in the Hollywood Bowl production include Donny Osmond, 16-time Grammy winner David Foster, Katharine McPhee, Tony Award winner Stephanie J. Block and actor-singer Sebastian Arcelus.

The two hours before the broadcast will include booths, bounce houses, cornhole, free-play soccer and America 250th birthday trivia. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase at stadium concessions.

The broadcast is free and open to the public, though online registration is encouraged, and guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring appropriate outdoor clothing for Colorado’s changing weather.
