Come summer in Colorado Springs, families grab lawn chairs and blankets and continue musical traditions. There are several ways to break up the workweek with free concerts around the city. 

One series we love: Tuesday evenings at Bancroft Park in Old Colorado City. Big bands take to that stage Wednesday evenings. Also on Wednesdays, the Manitou Springs library lawn hosts free concerts. 

And we circle the calendar every other Friday for Jazz in the Garden at the lush grounds of Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church downtown. Next up for June 12: saxophonist Tony Exum.
