Juvenile armed robbery suspects arrested; 4th suspect sought

Three juveniles are in custody while one remains wanted by authorities after a shooting on the southwest side of Colorado Springs, according to police Thursday.

Officers responded to a shooting in the 100 block of Cheyenne Road around 9:35 p.m. May 20. Four suspects were involved in an attempted robbery where they intended to take a handgun from a juvenile victim, according to the online police blotter entry.

Two of the suspects shot at the victim and struck several nearby apartments while missing the person, police said. No injuries were reported.

One juvenile suspect was arrested on May 21 for their alleged involvement in the attempted robbery after being identified with the assistance of detectives in the Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). An arrest warrant was issued for another juvenile suspect for attempted homicide, attempted robbery and other weapons charges, police said. A search warrant was completed on their residence, but they were not located and remain at large.

On Wednesday, two other juvenile suspects were located and taken into custody. One of them was identified as the alleged shooter from the May 20 incident.

The network of juvenile suspects allegedly has been in numerous shots-fired incidents in the city and El Paso County over the past two weeks, said police, who also believe that the remaining wanted suspect has fled to Denver.
