Denver native Wyndham Clark wins CJ Cup Byron Nelson to snap PGA Tour drought
It’s been a minute since Wyndham Clark was holding a trophy at the end of a PGA Tour event.
That changed on Sunday at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
The Denver native fired a 60 in the final round on Sunday to capture the CJ Cup Byron Nelson title for his fourth career win on the PGA Tour. It’s the Valor Christian graduate’s first win since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
Clark is no stranger to going low in a victory, as he fired a 60 in the third round of the shortened event at Pebble Beach in 2024.
“This is obviously very special, but it’s pretty awesome to do it at Pebble, such an iconic golf course,” Clark said. “Any time you win and any time you do it in the fashion I did is very special. At Pebble, I didn’t have any family and friends there. This one I had my girlfriend, my brother and his fiancee, and a bunch of other friends. So this one is very special in that sense. This will be a little bit more of a fun celebration because I have friends and family here.”
It’s the lowest final round by a winner since 2020 on the PGA Tour. The previous low this season was by Chris Gotterup with 64s at the Sony Open and WM Phoenix Open.
“At this golf course, you just gotta pedal to the metal the whole time, and I did that,” Clark said after the round.
The 2023 U.S. Open champion, who shot 30-under 254, went in front for the first time in the final round with an eagle at the par-5 12th and twice took a two-shot lead with clutch birdie putts over the final four holes.
Clark beat Si Woo Kim by three shots and Scottie Scheffler by five. Scheffler, playing in his hometown event, was looking to go back-to-back.
“Overall, I’m proud of this week for myself, but I wish I could have gotten a few more shots out of it. Overall, Wyndham played great golf,” Scheffler said.
The past year, Clark has been in the news for the wrong reasons. Clark was banned from the famed Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. The penalty followed last year’s U.S. Open, during which Clark smashed and damaged a locker after missing the cut. During the PGA Championship in May 2025 at Quail Hollow, Clark threw his driver and damaged a sign. There were several volunteers in the area as well.
His play had also taken a turn as he did not have a top-10 finish this season before the win. He only had three top 10s all of 2025 and is 75th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
But Clark hopes this win can help him gain some of the momentum he had in 2023-24 that led to him being ranked in the top 10 of the OWGR and playing on both Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup teams.
“Today feels really special after having a really tough year. … I’m happy where I’m at right now,” Clark told the CBS Sports broadcast.

Aurora’s Davis Bryant finishes
in tie for 30th at Soudal Open
Davis Bryant continues to rack up strong finishes on the DP World Tour.
The Aurora native shot a 67 in the final round to finish in a tie for 30th at the Soudal Open at the Rinkven International GC in Antwerp, Belgium. Bryant also had a 64 in the second round.
He has only missed three cuts in 13 events this season. His best finish is a tie for second at the Magical Kenya Open in February. The Eaglecrest High School graduate is 201st in the Official World Golf Ranking.
