Grab your goggles and get ready to dive into fun this Memorial Day weekend as Colorado Springs pools, spray grounds and fountains begin opening Saturday.

Local favorites like the Watering Hole at Venezia Park and the Splash Pad at Panorama Park are set to return this weekend, kicking off the season and helping residents beat the summer heat.

According to a news release from the city of Colorado Springs, here’s when each water feature is expected to open, weather permitting:

Outdoor pools

The Monument Valley pool will open for daily use starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, weather permitting. The pool features water slides and a dive board.

The Wilson Ranch pool is also set to reopen for the season starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, weather permitting. The pool features a lazy river, spiral waterslide and more.

Both pools will be open to the public with the purchase of day passes, as well as YMCA members. Click here to view day pass rates and check the open/closed status of the pools on the YMCA’s website.

Spray grounds

Get ready to make a splash at Panorama Park as the Splash Pad reopens Saturday. The splash pad will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The park also features a universally accessible playground, a climbing boulder, a bike park and much more.

With more than a dozen water features, the Watering Hole at Venezia Park is set to make its return on Saturday. The watering hole will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

John Venezia Community Park features an award-winning, universally accessible playground and more.

The Deerfield Hills spray ground will reopen to the public month next month. It will open on June 1 and operate daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The spray ground has dozens of individual spray nozzles and 16 water spray features.

The spray grounds are free and open to all residents.

Fountains

The city’s iconic Uncle Wilber Fountain in Acacia Park is free and will open to the public on Saturday. The water feature will be open daily from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Julie Penrose Fountain at America the Beautiful Park will be dry this year. Itwill not operate for the season due to Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services’ 2026 budget adjustments.

Prospect and Quail lakes

Both lakes are open year-round and offer fishing (permit required), paddle boarding and more.

At Prospect Lake, residents can swim on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in the roped-off area near the Beach House, but there will be no lifeguards. Motorized use is allowed with a permit and paddleboards can be rented through SUP Colorado Springs.

Quail Lake allows for non-motorized boating, but swimming is prohibited. Visitors can enjoy a fitness trail, paddleboarding, a playground and more.
