The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office identified the victim of a fatal crash late Wednesday as 41-year-old Andrew T. Mendoza, the office announced on social media.

Mendoza died shortly after eluding police, who were responding to the 800 block of Beulah Avenue around 10:30 p.m. for a report of a ‘domestic fight,’ in a white SUV, according to Pueblo police.

Officers later responded to the fatal crash at the intersection of Northern Avenue and Van Buren Street and matched the vehicle’s license plate to the white SUV Mendoza fled in.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

This is the seventh fatal crash in Pueblo this year, according to police.
