Local product Hannah Everson named to 2026 Air Force Athletics Hall of Fame class

Colorado Springs native Hannah Everson, a Liberty graduate who became a three-time All-American at Air Force, was part of the academy’s 2026 athletics hall of fame class.

Everson, a 2015 Air Force graduate, finished third in the 10,000-meter run at the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships and is the first runner in program history to earn All-America honors in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in the same season (2015-16).

Also included in the class is Mike Benza (boxing), Shannon Buck (men’s tennis), Kevin How (wrestling), Bob Martin (volleyball) and Eddie Weichers (boxing).

The class will be honored on Oct. 16.

2026 AIR FORCE HALL OF FAME CLASS

Mike Benza (2000): Boxing, four-time national champion; Wing Open champion

Shannon Buck (2006), Men’s tennis, two-time MW player of the year, most singles win in program history

Hannah Everson (2016): Women’s track, three-time All-American, multiple academy record holder

Kevin Hoy (2003): Wrestling, two-time All-American, NCAA heavyweight runner-up in 2003

Barb Martin (1984): Volleyball, two-time All-American, Olympia Award in 1986, head coach from 1993-95

Eddie Weichers, Coach, Boxing, led program to 19 NCBA national titles, coached 325 All-Americans
