Pueblo police are investigating a fatal crash that involved a vehicle that fled from officers after a reported “domestic fight,” the department announced in a news release.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Beulah Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to the reported fight and found a white SUV, which fled at a high rate of speed.

Police later responded to a fatal traffic crash at Northern Avenue and Van Buren Street involving the same vehicle. The driver died after being ejected from the SUV, police said.

The Pueblo County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the person who died in the crash once it has made the proper notifications.

There have been seven fatal crashes in Pueblo this year, according to police.
