The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has increased the reward for anyone who can help lead to the arrest of anyone responsible for a December 2025 homicide in Saguache County.

Charles William “Bill” McClure, 78, was found in his Center home off Colorado 112 on Dec. 23 when local construction workers, who were building an addition to McClure’s house, contacted authorities after they had not seen him for several days, according to a Wednesday news release from CBI. The agency and Saguache County officials initially set the reward to $2,000 but raised it to $10,000 Wednesday.

Center is about 170 miles southwest of Colorado Springs in the San Luis Valley.

CBI said it will not release more details about the cause of death nor if any evidence found at the scene.

Investigators determined McClure was last seen alive Dec. 19. The agency is seeking more information about any suspicious activity in the area between then and the day his body was found.

“Information that may seem insignificant to a bystander could be the missing piece needed by investigators,” the agency said in the release.
