More than 6,500 customers in Fremont, Teller and Park counties lost power Wednesday morning after a transmission line was interrupted, according to CORE Electric.

As of 8 a.m., the company said crews are actively working to backfeed and restore service to as many people as possible while they wait for a third-party transmission line to be restored, according to a post on CORE Electric’s X page.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the power outage has prompted closures at Mueller State Park in Divide. The agency announced on X that the park’s visitor center, comfort station and showerhouse will be closed until power is restored.
