Woman allegedly assaults officer during arrest: Colorado Springs police

A woman allegedly assaulted a Colorado Springs police officer during a domestic disturbance early Sunday, according to an online blotter entry.

At about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, two officers were investigating an incident in the 4400 block of Montebello Drive. As they tried to detain one of the people involved, Mariah Armstrong, 34, she grabbed an officer by the head and pulled him to the ground, officials said.

The second officer used a taser on Armstrong and took her into custody. The assaulted officer’s condition was not released.

Armstrong faces a charge of second-degree assault on a peace officer in addition to other charges related to the domestic incident, police said.
