The D38 difference | D38 Leadership Update

The 2025–26 school year has come to a close, and the final weeks were filled with positive, celebratory moments. Students shared magnificent performances on the stage, competed with heart in athletic contests, and showcased excellence in academics at events on our campuses. Every moment in our schools tells a story, and as we close the book on another year, I want to remind us all that these are the stories that reflect who we are and set us apart with The D38 Difference.

The grand finale of every school year is graduation, and we were excited to congratulate 312 graduates from Lewis-Palmer High School and 229 from Palmer Ridge High School. We wish all of our graduates the best in life’s next adventure, and know they’ll go on to do many great things.

On May 14, we hosted faith-based leaders from across our community at the Career & Innovation Center (CIC) for the Educator & Faith Leader Forum. We had the opportunity to share highlights about our schools and programs, provided a tour of the CIC, and talked about how we can collaborate to benefit students and staff. Connecting with everyone in our community is an important priority for me, so we can ensure everyone knows about the great things happening every day in D38.

Along with celebrating this year’s graduates, we also took time to acknowledge some of our finest educators. Each of our schools nominated at least one teacher for the Colorado Department of Education’s Teacher of the Year Award. These are educators who have risen to the top and are known in their schools for delivering outstanding instruction and demonstrating a connection with students. We know that teachers in D38 are among the best, and we wish all the nominees good luck as they vie for the title of best educator in our state.

To our staff, students, families, and community, I thank you for making this another memorable year and for being part of our story. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved summer break, and be sure to watch for D38, and many school clubs and teams at the Annual 4th of July Parade here in Monument.
