Sushi time: Voters say these are the best spots in Colorado Springs
In this weekly feature, we’re celebrating the best of Colorado Springs’ food and drink scene — as determined by voters in the 2026 Best of the Springs (thebestofthesprings.com). We’ll throw in our own recommendation, too.
Up this week: Sushi.
Gold: Dozo Sushi and Bar
“Dozo” is a welcoming Japanese phrase. Best of the Springs voters have returned the courtesy by consistently crowning this cozy nook. They have cozied up and bellied up to the bar, where chefs craft a vast, colorful array of rolls. Similarly long is the list of nigiri and sashimi. 1606 S. 8th St.

Silver: Sushi Row
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful place to eat sushi. But it’s not just vibes bringing people back to the downtown spot. It’s the food, refined like the atmosphere, neatly arranged and pleasing. And best served with innovative cocktails. It’s a go-to for happy hour. 316 N. Tejon St.
Bronze: Jun Japanese
Jun has been a local favorite for over 30 years, so named for the owner who is quoted on the website, using three words to describe the cuisine of his liking: “simple, natural and fresh.” Jun Aizu also likes to keep it traditional, explaining the sunken tables to gather around. 3276 Centennial Blvd., 1760 Dublin Blvd.
Our recommendation: Sushi Ato
Over the years, we have been constantly surprised by everything emerging on the Springs’ booming north side — Topgolf, Ford Amphitheater and Hotel Polaris to name a few. Oh, and possibly our favorite sushi around. Sushi Ato claims 95 years of combined experience among traditionally trained chefs behind the bar. You can taste the difference. 12245 Voyager Parkway
