Journey back in time at the Totally Rad Vintage Fest
If you ever feel nostalgia for the fashion, music and games of the ’80s or ’90s, you can indulge that yearning on Saturday at the Totally Rad Vintage Fest at the Colorado Springs Event Center, 3960 Palmer Park Blvd.
Colorado Springs will the third stop for the traveling event, which kicked off in Bloomington, Minn., on April 18-19 before heading west to Seattle, according to its website.
Dozens of vendors will be on hand for the event, offering a time-warp experience that will take attendees back to the carefree days of the ’80s, ’90s, and even the early years of the 21st century. Most vendors will be selling retro clothing, but others will offer vinyl records, cassette tapes and vintage games from bygone eras.
Vintage Vendors
Shop till you drop among the vintage vendors offering clothing (mostly for adults), games, toys, home goods and more from eras defined by baggy pants, outlandish colors and hip-hop style.
Free-Play Vintage Arcade
Enjoy iconic, old-school tabletop and video games at the Free-Play Vintage Arcade. Whether you’re looking to show your kids what the early days of gaming looked like, or checking to see if you’ve still got the skills to beat the high score, the arcade offers family-friendly, nostalgic fun.
Rad Rewind Museum
If you have fond memories of boom boxes, Sony Walkmans, VHS rewinders, beepers and cellular phones the size of an adult’s shoe, you’ll enjoy perusing the cultural artifacts and retro technology of the Rad Rewind Museum.
The Details
General admission for the event ($8 in advance; $12 day of the event) is 10 a.m.–5 p.m. For attendees who want to get a head start on the festivities, a $25 early entry pass buys admission as early as 8:30 a.m. Kids 12 and under are free.
